Big NEWS and I don't just mean my new tattoo

Tuesday, June 19, 2007, 07:33 PM CST [General]

This is my new tattoo on my left shoulder in memory of Brad, Our King Oberon, It was brand new here, I'll let you see it next faire.

The biggest news is that I should be closing on a house by the 9th of July. Finally after 7 years, I'm going to collect all of our belongings in one place so that I can get rid of about half of them! I'm serious I have way too much "stuff" for one woman, even one with 2 kids still at home. I'm up-sizing the house and down-sizing the belongings!

Check it out here!   And don't worry I'm still your Faerie Queen!

    Back to Iowa Again

Monday, June 4, 2007, 11:33 PM CST [General]

Home Again,Home Again...Well I made it safely, after an overnight in Memphis, TN, to TTullahome, Tennessee, and back again with only a few incidents....Anyone ever heard of the WWE Wrestlers? Well, how about Batista, big guy, supposed to be 6'6", but he didn't look that tall, but massive, whew, he could have sat me on each of his shoulders and still had room for more.  I think his shoulder mass made him appear smaller than he was up-close and personal....But still the kids had a good time getting his picture and autograph...

    Sword Fighting Classes

Wednesday, May 9, 2007, 08:42 PM CST [General]

    Greetings, Everyone!

Dale Tokvam has asked me to announce that an informational meeting
will take place THIS SATURDAY, MAY 12th, to discuss upcoming Sword
Fighting classes. Location: Sleepy Hollow Sports Park lodge - 2nd
floor - beginning at 1:00 PM. 4051 Dean Avenue, Des Moines.

The meeting should last less than an hour. Dale is the
founder/director of the Swordfighting group, Canis Bellum and was the
fight captain for the 2006 Des Moines Renaissance Faire. (as well as
    a GREAT tax collector!)

Dale would like to get information from everyone, find out what
days/evening would be good for classses, let them know what to
expect, and what equipment they will need to get started.

Dale plans to kick off the first class the first week of June.
Please remember that everyone will be paying Dale directly for the
classes - Festivals International and Sleepy Hollow Sports Park will
NOT be subsidizing Dale's talents this season. Everyone will come
away from the class with a new skill - one which can be honed and
improved and marketed to the DM Renaissance Faire AS WELL AS other
festivals around the Midwest. Dale will discuss prices with everyone
    at Saturday's meeting.

If there are any questions, please email Lynne Melssen at: lynne@festint.com

    Thanks!

Our First Faire After Our Loss!

Monday, May 7, 2007, 11:07 AM CST [General]

Hello All, I just wanted to let everyone know that we have gotten through our first faire without our beloved king.  Many friends offered their condolences and received a special 'faerie berry'; one in the good king's colors and/or a special memorial card with a mundane picture and a faire picture on one side and a poem on the other.  Some of the poems were from a card that spoke loudly of our life.  Another written by a family friend which touched our hearts deeply!

At any rate I wanted to let each and everyone of my special friends know that we made it safely back home and had a wonderful time despite the rain on Sunday.  The love and support from our Ren Friends made what could have been a very difficult weekend easier to handle.  So the Faerie Queen was able to spread her special touch to the many children in attendance without green tears rolling down her face.  Yes, I miss my Oberon, every minute of every day, but with your help, love and support the pain will diminish and only the joyful memories will remain.

And a special thank you to those of my flirtatious male friends for helping me to feel still desirable and allow me a few minutes of light flirtation in return. ;)

The children and I look forward to seeing those of you we missed in the Amanas in Des Moines this coming September.  Look for new costumes and at least one TREE in the town proper.  Also I brought my new camera on Sunday and took lots of pictures.  I shall add a few of the very best here!

Love, Hugs, Kisses and Faerie Dust - Queen Titania
